McCarthys was appointed by Birmingham Metropolitan as Principal Contractor to roll out a programme of Refurbishment Works within a “live” educational institute, consisting of both internal and external packages running concurrently.

Internal Works consisted of complete decoration and floor covering replacement to all classrooms and communal areas over 5 floors within the main building, and several satellite buildings also located on the campus.

External work packages consisted of notifiable and non-notifiable Asbestos removal prior to replacement of over 200 windows and doors, re-covering of 7 existing flat roofs and replacement of associated roof lights, removal and reinstatement of ventilation services to facilitate roof works, service road Tarmac re-surfacing and minor decorations to existing structures.
