On Thursday 13 March, McCarthys attended The Business Desk’s West Midlands Leadership Awards 2025.

The team gathered at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham to celebrate business leader Steven McCarthy being shortlisted in the Property Leader category.

Bringing together leaders from across the West Midlands, the event acknowledged exceptional achievements in various sectors, from technology and finance to diversity and inclusion.

Steve McCarthys said: “It’s a privilege to have been shortlisted for this award amongst the other brilliant names, and what a great evening celebrating the region’s achievements. A huge congratulations to all of the winners and other finalists!”

The West Midlands Leadership Awards is an annual celebration highlighting the people who are role models within their organisations and are raising the bar for their competitors.

This year’s awards were independently judged by the region’s business leaders and a panel of judges consisting of Andy Begley, CEO of Shropshire Council, Henrietta Brealey, CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, Andrew Lovett, CEO of the Black Country Living Museum and Abbie Vlahakis, CEO of Millenium Point.

TheBusinessDesk.com’s West Midlands editor Anna Cooper, who chaired the panel, said: “Congratulations to all our winners – and those shortlisted. The standard of this year’s nominations was higher than ever, displaying the depth and breadth of the leadership talent in the West Midlands.”
