Open plan layouts may require specific heating or cooling selections to deliver optimum energy efficiency, for example. It’s not always enough to invest in energy-efficient equipment; systems must be competently designed and installed for them to perform at optimum levels. For example, McCarthys frequently upgrades mechanical and electrical aspects to improve performance, sometimes opting for new systems for the best results.

In terms of lighting, it can be hugely beneficial to install skylights or large windows; allowing more natural light in and reducing reliance on artificial lighting. Alternatively, motion sensored and photocell reactive lighting solutions ensure usage relative to demand, to minimise wasted energy.
